I have to admit it …. I have a soft spot for Fenton Glass Company Silver Crest serving pieces. I am drawn to any piece in this pattern. This probably explains why Fenton was so successful for over a hundred years until it stopped producing glassware in 2011. When I saw this piece on one of our treasure hunts, I knew I had to have it. The fact that Fenton hand crimped the edges of each glass piece (with almost perfect precision), along with the fact that the edge is clear glass when the rest of the glass is white is just amazing to me (how did they do that?). Someday I will write a post on our Resource page that answers this question, but for now I just wonder in amazement. I think these are such elegant pieces that make for an elegant addition to a buffet table. I dream of having a buffet table that has all white serving pieces on a navy blue or black tablecloth. What a statement that would make! We have found some other gorgeous pieces in Silver Crest (as shown below). This is not to take away from our Treasure of the Week, but I think it shows my obsession with these pieces.
